What made you want to start the business?
I used to work at a cattery before my boss retired, she was the one that encouraged me to start my own cat sitting service because I already knew a lot of the cats and their owners. Plus the fact there aren't many catteries in the local area so it seemed like a brilliant idea to offer a cat sitting service!
So with her encouragement and the support of my friends and family, Meowry Pop-ins was born!!
Why the name Meowry Pop-ins?
Honestly it came up randomly when I was creating the name for this business, originally I was going to just use my name in some way but when I wrote it down I really liked the it since one: I loved Mary Poppins and two: visitng cats would be similar to How Mary Poppins visited the children in the film. After getting feedback (and some laughs) it was a hit!
What qualifications and experience do you have?
Well, I went to Moulton College where I graduated with a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Welfare.
I worked at a cattery for 7 1/2 years as a cattery assistant. I fed, adminster medications if needed, daily cleaned pens, deep cleaned pens once cats had gone ready for the next cat as well as maintenance work.
I am DBS certified as well as insured.
